Home Information Packs Suspended!
The Coalition Government has this morning announced that the requirement for a Home Information Pack to be in place before a property can be marketed has been suspended pending David Cameron's much promised great repeal bill which is expected on 25 May 2010.

Although Sellers will still need to supply an Energy Performance Certificate, this announcement is great news for property owners who are contemplating selling their property.  Housing Minister Grant Shapps said "This is a great example of how we are determined to get straight down to work and cut pointless red tape which is strangling the [property] market.

Home Information Packs have long been a contentious issue within the estate agency and legal world.  Placing a lot of expense on a Seller before their property was even marketed was viewed as neither necessary nor helpful in such a challenging property market.

This announcement means that, instead of having to pay hundreds of pounds for a Home Information Pack, Sellers now only need to purchase an Energy Performance Certificate, which Milne Moser can obtain on your behalf for the sum of only £95.00.

If you would like us to help you obtain an Energy Performance Certificate, please contact our estate agencies on either (01539) 725582 for Kendal or (015395) 64600 for Milnthorpe.
